Contract or not? Which do you prefer?

I had a prepaid phone once. I ended up spending a lot o' bucks on airtime by the end of my first month. I researched it and the three big service providers and found I could save about 75 dollars a month. That was 3 years ago, and I have a nice xperia x10 phone.
