My Droid Ally won't root on my Macbook 10.4 Tiger! HELP!?

When I connect my phone to my Mac, the red light on my phone goes on. However, the option to root my phone on my Mac doesn't come up. I've also noticed that that bolt thing that normally appears in the battery isn't there. HELP!
