Does the regular human somatic cell have 23 chromosomes?

Somatic cells have two sets of 23 chromosome pairs. so in total it's 46. when it goes through mitosis, it ends up with exact replicas. Meiosis would separate it into half, and when an egg gets fertilized by sperm, each 23 chromosomes pairs up with homologous chromosomes. One from the mother, one from the father.
