How to restore a photo?!?!?!?

I was using PhotoImpact to edit a picture and when i had finished editing it, i pressed save. it then came up a couple more times with "Save Changes?" and i pressed yes to all of them because i thought it was just going to save what i had done to the picture. Now I cannot open the file, it says the size of the file is 0 bytes, and it won't show a preview or open the file on any programme, including Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. I need this picture back, but it has disappeared, is there a way i can restore it to its original state and get it back?! Thank you
