Which of the following does not comprise a logical hierarchy of organization?

The answer is C because it lists atoms after molecules. Molecules are made of atoms, so it does not make sense to list atoms after molecules. In each of the other choices start with the smallest or most limited category, and each category that comes after it contains the category before it. I agree that in D it seems like kind of a big jump to go from organ systems to populations, but the order of these things still makes logical sense. If you inserted organisms in between organ systems and populations, D wouldn't seem so weird, so the hierarchy (the ordering) itself is logical, but in C placing molecules before atoms does not make sense.
